games in XP dont work

When ever i install a game in Xp and try to start it, i can only hear a
short "peep" and then nothing happens. I need help.

From what little information you furnished--
You are likely using a netbook.
The netbook may not have the necessary video system to support the game
you are trying to load. Or, it may not have enough memory, since most
netbooks use system RAM for part of the video memory when running such
things as games. Non "standard" video resolutions can also be a problem.
(Such things as 1024x600 instead of 1024x768 for instance).
