Age of Empires II lan problems

Hello!

I was playing LAN with 6 peoples yesterday in Age of Empires II
yesterday. We build up our bases and our armies, and then the fight
started. As we set the population to the max (200) for each
civilisation, we had some big armies. After they fought for about a
minute, the game went still and we couldn't move nothing. We've
experienced that before, and it really is annoying because otherwise
it's a great game.

I wonder if you know any patch or fix that might put an end to this
problem?
